The operator behind the lab

Hi — I'm KC. I build the tools that should already exist.

Marketing Coordinator out of college, until a reorg two months in dropped Salesforce Marketing Cloud in my lap. I scaled fast, earned a senior architect role inside three years, then crossed to the partner side to architect the complex work upstream of activation. Ten years on, that's still the job: turn the pain points I keep seeing into systems that hold.

02The arc

Ten years, one accidental start.

I did not set out to do marketing technology. It found me, and then it stuck.

2016 – 2022
Brand side

Marketing Coordinator out of college, until a department reorg two months in handed me Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Senior architect inside three years, then six years total owning the platform and its expansion across business units.

2022 – 2023
The crossover

Left for the partner side as a certified consultant. The point was breadth: more platforms, more problems, and more verticals than a single brand could offer.

2023 – present
Lead Architect

Enterprise MarTech operations for a Fortune 1000 program, and the agentic AI layer sitting on top of it. FinTech, healthcare, and quick-serve restaurants, on top of the utilities and logistics grounding.

Education

B.S. Business Administration, Marketing. University of Central Missouri, 2016. Dean's List.

03Scope

What I own.

Enterprise marketing operations for a Fortune 1000 program. 35 million messages a day across email, push, and SMS, and the $100M+ in attributed revenue that runs through them.

A delivery pod of three, two engineers and an architect, all of whom I hired. The build standards and QA controls we put in took campaign error rates down 60%, which is the number I'm most proud of, because it belongs to the team and it kept working after I stopped watching it.

Vendor selection and contracts, where it's mine to run: Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Brandfolder, Litmus, and Everest. I've led the project-management RFP twice, once on the brand side and once on the partner side. ClickUp won both times, which I choose to read as consistency rather than bias.

I've had dotted-line reports ask to keep the 1:1 on the calendar after they rolled off my pod. That's the part of the job I'd take more of.

And the standing conversation with executives about where the platform goes next. Loyalty redesign, consent architecture, which AI is worth paying for. Most of that job is translating between the people who own the number and the people who own the system.

“KC is the kind of partner you want when things get complex. He consistently took ownership, stayed steady under tight timelines, and delivered solutions that were both technically sound and operationally practical.”

04The why

Why Kyntra Labs exists.

Kyntra Labs is a playground and a portfolio. It isn't a startup, nothing's for sale, and there's no pitch deck. Across a decade of client work the same pain points kept surfacing, and every one of them came down to the same question: buy the platform and live with the gaps, or build the thing and own it forever. This is where I answer that in code, on my own time, and find out what building actually costs before I recommend it to somebody spending real money.

The lifecycle this all sits inside, and the specific things I've built inside it, are over on MarTech.

05Off the clock

Off the clock.

Lately I'm on two wheels — newly licensed, and enjoying the thrill of it. At home there's Koda, a Bernese Mountain Dog with a genuinely rare gift: he doesn't bark. Not at the doorbell, not at the Amazon driver, not at anything. The throughline behind all of it, work included: I like the challenge of a new idea or an unfamiliar technology, just to see if I can pull it off. Usually that's exactly how these projects start.

06What's next

Where this is heading.

The next step I'm building toward is a Director of Marketing Technology or AI Enablement role — somewhere that wants the systems thinking and the hands to back it up. Remote anywhere in the U.S., or hybrid in Kansas City, MO.
